Articles and information about traditional Hawaiian falsetto singer Amy Hanaialii Gilliom.

Amy Hanaialii Gilliom

Amy Hanaiali'i Gillion is one of the top female falsetto singers in Hawaii. She is the grandaughter of choreographer Jennie Napua Woodd who worked many on many of the Hawaii-related films of the 1930's and 1940's. Amy's grandfather is trumpet player Lloyd B. Gilliom.

Amy performed with Willie Kahaiali'i (Willie K) in the 1990's, and they were a hugely success duo. They broke up both personally and professionally in 2001 and Amy returned to performing solo, recording on her own label called Hanaialii. Any and Willie K toured together again in 2003 and recorded another album together that was nominated for the first Hawaiian music grammy award.
