Island Air

In addition to flying between Honolulu and the outer islands, Island Air offers flights directly between some of the outer islands without stopping in Honolulu.

Island Air - Official Web Site
The official Web site for Island Air includes an online reservations service, special offers, flight information, a rewards program, contacts, and general information about Island Air.

History of Island Air
Island Air was founded in 1980 as Princeville Airways. In 1987 it was purchased by the parent company of Aloha Airlines, and renamed Aloha Island Air. In 1992 they changed their name to Island Air. In 2004 the company was sold by the Aloha Airgroup to Gavarnie Holding, making Island Air Hawaii's third independent airline.

Island Air's New Aircraft Tail Art
In 2006 Island Air announced their plans to repaint the tails of all of their aircraft using one of these themes: (1) Island Rhythm, featuring a ukulele, (2) Island Beauty, featuring a hula dancer, and (3) Island Style, featuring a surfboard. The first plane was repainted in April of 2006, using the ukulele theme, and Island Air's remaining 11 planes will be repainted over the next two years.

Island Air is trying to establish itself as an independent operation with a strong brand name at a time when the competition in the interisland airline market is heating up. The company is still perceived as being part of Aloha Airlines, and they are trying to change that. Their fleet includes 11 turboprop planes (37 passengers each) and a luxury charter jet that can travel worldwide.
