The Beaches of Waikiki
Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii
Waikiki Beach is not just one beach, but rather it is a series of beaches
that stretch along the south shore of Oahu Island from the Ala Wai Yacht
Harbor to Diamond Head Crater.

Photos and information about the beaches of Waikiki, beginning
with Duke Kahanamoku Beach on the Alai Wai Harbor end of Waikiki
to San Souci Beach on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki Beach.
Kahanamoku Beach
This man-made beach and lagoon on the Ala Moana end of Waikiki,
in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort, was named
after legendary surfer Duke Kahanamoku. The Atlantis submarine
tours and dinner cruises pick up passengers at the Port Hilton Dock
which is located on Kahanamoku Beach.
Fort DeRussy Beach
The widest stretch of white sand beach in Waikiki is located
in Fort DeRussy Beach Park. It is a popular spot for
snorkeling because of the coral reef a few hundred feet offshore.
Gray's Beach
This is the beach in front of the
luxurious Halekulani Hotel
Royal Manoa Beach
The beach in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and
the Sheraton Moana Surfrider is really two beaches,
Kahaloa Beach and Ulokou Beach.
Kuhio Beach Park
Kuhio Beach Park includes the section of Waikiki Beach
between the historic Moana Hotel and the Kapahulu
Groin. The offshore retaining wall at Kuhio Beach
creates a sheltered swimming area, making
it a popular beach for family outings.
Queen's Surf Beach
This beach is named after Queen Liliuokalani because
her beach house use to sit on this site.
This beach is located between the Honolulu Zoo and
the Waikiki Aquarium. Access is off of Kalakaua Avenue.
San Souci Beach
The beach in front of the New Otani Hotel and
the Waikiki Natatorium is called San Souci Beach,
and sometimes it is also called "Dig Me Beach".
Access is from the parking lot on the east side
of the Natatorium, off of Kalakaua Avenue.
