Mark 7 Gun Turret on the USS Missouri

A photo of the gun turret on the aft deck of the USS Missouri Battleship. It is a Mark 7 model gun turret with three sixteen inch (406 mm), 50 caliber guns. It was designed in 1939 and the first one was put into service in 1943. It was used on two categories of U.S. Navy ships, the USS Iowa ships and the USS Montana ships.
