Michel's at the Colony Surf

Michel's at the Colony Surf is a romantic, beachfront, fine dining restaurant located on the ground floor of the Colony Surf Condominium building on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki. Jackets are no longer required but this is a popular special occasion restaurant and diners do dress up to eat at Michel's.

Michels Closed For a Few Months in 1995
Michel's Restaurant closed in the fall of 1995 but it reopened again on July 27, 1996. At that time once again became the upscale French restaurant it once was. Matre'd Bob Clark, who worked at Michel's for 26 years, returned to his old job when the restaurant reopened. The chef after the reopening was Daniel Dufort. The reopened Michel's was owned by Hawaii Legislature D.G. "Andy" Anderson, who also owned the John Dominis Restaurant in the Kewalo Basin. Sanley Ikei was sous chef at Michel's at the colony Surf from 1961 to 1970. Ian Russo became the new executive chef at Michel's in approximately 1998.
