Iolani Palace State Monument

The Iolani Palace was built in 1882 by King David Kalakaua and Queen Lili'uokalani lived there until she was deposed in 1893. The building served as the capitol of the state of Hawaii until 1969, when it was restored and turned into a museum and state historic monument.
