Christmas Parades on Oahu
The Waikiki Holiday Parade takes place
every year the Friday after Thanksgiving
and it features about 40 school marching bands
and military bands from across the United States.
Beginning that weekend, there are many wonderful local Christmas
parades in different parts of Honolulu, West Oahu,
East Oahu, Central Oahu, and on the north shore.
Christmas Concerts on Oahu
There are quite a few annual Christmas concerts
on Oahu including the Brothers Cazimero Christmas
Concert, the Na Leo Christmas Concert,
the Kamehameha Schools Christmas Concert,
the Honolulu Boys Choir Christmas, and
many others.

Christmas Boat Parades on Oahu
There are two Christmas boat parades in Hawaii
and both of them are on the island of Oahu. One
is a few miles west of Waikiki in the Downtown Honolulu Harbor
and one is a few miles east of Waikiki in Hawaii Kai.
Nutcracker Ballet Performances on Oahu
There are at least three Nutcracker Ballet
performances on the island Oahu every year,
presented by Ballet Hawaii, the Hawaii State Ballet,
and the Hawaii Ballet Theatre.
Honolulu City Lights Ceremony
One of Oahu's most popular Christmas events is
the "Honolulu City Lights" ceremony at the Honolulu
Hale - aka Honolulu City Hall. That event takes
place in early December and it includes
an opening concert presented by the Kawaiahao Church,
a tree lighting ceremony,
an electric light parade, and a big-name
Christmas concert after the parade.
At the December 6, 2008 Honolulu City Lights event,
Amy Hanaialii was a the special guest
performer during the tree lighting portion
of the ceremony and the after-concert
featured John Cruz, Jake Shimabukuro, and
Karen Keawehawaii.

There are also tree lighting ceremonies at
The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort,
the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Hotel, the Hale Koa Hotel,
the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach Hotel the Wyland Waikik9
Hotel, and at many other Oahu hotels and resorts.
