Five Hawaii State Parks on Oahu

There are five Hawaii state parks on the Island of Oahu.

Hanauma Bay State Underwater Park
Hanauma Bay on Oahu's South Shore
Hanauma Bay is located about 10 miles east of Waikiki and it is one of the most popular spots in Hawaii for snorkling. The view of the bay from the parking lot is beautiful. Visitors can either take a tram to the beach or walk down the cliff on a walkway.

He'eia State Park
This 18 acre park is located on the southeast coast of Oahu, near the town of Kaneohe and Kaneohe Bay. The He'eia Fishpond is located on the grounds, and park facilities include picnic tables, restrooms, and a party hall that can be rented on weekends.

A 5000 acre park is located in a scenic valley on the windward side of Oahu. Facilities includes a beach park, hiking trails through the valley, picnic tables in a coconut grove, and a small campground.

Kaena Point State Park
A 780 acre park with a large sandy beach, located in a remote spot on the far western tip of Oahu. Park has tide pools, natural stone arches, a hiking trail, and views of the Makua coastline.

Sacred Falls State Park
Sacred Falls State Park
Sacred Falls State Park is a 1370 acre park named for the 80 foot waterfall that lies at the end of a narrow canyon within the park. The hike to the waterfalls is two miles one way, and it can be dangerous. Hikers have died when flash floods swept them down the canyon.
