Ten Popular Oahu Attractions

Information about ten of the best and most popular attractions on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Includes Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Diamond Head Crater, Hanauma Bay, the Bishop Museum, and more of the best Oahu attractions.

  1. Pearl Harbor
    The #1 most visited attraction in Hawaii is the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. Other Pearl Harbor "must see" attractions include the USS Missouri Battleship Tour on Ford Island and the USS Bowfin Submarine Tour and Museum.

  2. Polynesian Cultural Center
    The Polynesian Cultural Center is the most visited paid attraction in Hawaii. This 42 acre center on the northeast shore of Oahu is a group of villages representing Hawaii and many other South Pacific island groups. There are waterways between the villages, making it is possible to tour the grounds either on foot or on a canoe tour. There are also live shows, a canoe pageant, an IMAX theater, an all-you-can-eat buffet and a Hawaiian luau.

  3. Diamond Head Crater
    Diamond Head State Monument is a 475 acre park just South of Waikiki. If you hike to the top of Diamond Head, through a tunnel and up 100 stairs, you will be rewarded with a fabulous, panoramic view of Waikiki and Honolulu.

  4. Hanauma Bay
    Hanauma Bay State Underwater Park is a 100 acre park located between Hawaii Kai and Koko Crater, on the south coast of Oahu. The most popular activities in the park are swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving, but even if you are not into watersports, the view from the parking lot makes this a worthwhile stop. Try to get here early, because the parking lot can fill up by noon.

  5. Pali Lookout
    Nuuanu Pali State Wayside Park is A three acre roadside park in the Koolau Mountains with a beautiful panoramic view of the windward coast of Oahu from the edge of a 1200 foot cliff.

    This 50 acre outdoor plantation life museum is a plantation village with historic buildings and accurate replicas of the homes and community buildings of plantation workers who traveled to Hawaii from China, Portugal, Japan, Puerto Rico, Okinawa, Korea, and the Philippines.

  8. Downtown Honolulu Historic Walking Tour
    Aloha Tower, Hawaii Maritime Center, and the Honolulu Heritage Trail, which includes the Iolani Palace, Kawaiahao Church, the statue of King Kamehameha I, the Mission Houses Museum, the Hawaii State Capitol Building.

  9. Waikiki Historic Walking Tour
    Swimming, sunbathing, outrigger canoeing, surfing, shopping, nightlife, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Damien Museum, Military Museum, Kapiolani Park.

  10. Circle Island Driving Tour
    South Oahu, Windward Oahu, Northshore, Waimea Valley, Haleiwa Town.
