Hawaii National Parks

United States national parks located in the Hawaiian Islands.

Hawaii Volcanos National Park
A United States national park centered around the active Kilauea Volcano on the slopes of Mount Mauna Loa in the center of the Big Island of Hawaii.

Haleakala National Park
This national park is centered around the dormant Haleakala Volcano on the island of Maui was formerly part of Hawaii Volcanos National Park, but in 1961 it was designated as a separate National Park.

USS Arizona Memorial
A memorial to the USS Arizona battleship, which was sunk during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. This is the most visited attraction in Hawaii.

Kalaupapa National Historical Park
Kalaupapa National Historical Park, established in 1980, contains the physical setting for these stories. Within its boundaries are the historic Hansen's disease settlements of Kalaupapa and Kalawao. The community of Kalaupapa, on the leeward side of Kalaupapa Peninsula, is still home for many surviving Hansen's disease patients, whose memories and experiences are cherished values. In Kalawao on the windward side of the peninsula are the churches of Siloama, established in 1866, and Saint Philomena, associated with the work of Father Damien

Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail
When this trail is completed it will be a 175 mile walking path along the coastline of the Big Island of Hawaii, that will extend from Upolu Point in North Kohala to Wahaula Heiau on the eastern boundry of Hawaii volcanoes National park. The name of the trail means "trail by the sea". The trail is not yet open to the public. For more information see the E Mau Na Ala Hele Web site.
