Papohaku Beach
West Molokai, Hawaii
Papohaku Beach, on the west side of Molokai,
is also known as "Three Mile Beach" because
it is more then three miles longand approximately
300 yards wide. This is one of the largest
and widest white sand beaches in Hawaii, but it
is still remote and uncrowded.

Papohaku beach is a popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving
except during the winter months, when the surf can be very high.
There is a Papohaku Beach park has restrooms, drinking water,
picnic tables, and showers, but there is no lifeguard.
How to get there: Papohaku beach is
located on Kaluakoi Road, about two miles
past the entrance to the Kaluakoi Resort.
Ka Hula Piko Festival
There is an annual event held every May
in Papohaku Beach Park, called the Ka Hula Piko
Festival. It is a free all-day outdoor concert
with hula performances, chants, musicians, comedians,
Hawaiian crafts, and food booths. The 15th annual
event will take place May 18-20, 2006 from 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm.
