The Kaluakoi Golf Course is an 18 hole, par 72 golf course,
on the grounds of the Molokai Ranch, that was designed by
Ted Robinson. It has views of the West Molokai coast.
The course was built in 1976, but it was closed for a time.
The front nine holes were refurbished and reopened
in November of 2002 and the other nine holes were
refurnished and opened soon after.
Five of the course's holes are on the coastline.
The first 9 holes are at sea level and they have
views of a 3 mile long white sand beach.
The back 9 holes are on a hillside, across a gulch,
and back down to the water.
Greens fees at the Kaluakoi Golf Course are priced at several levels
including standard fees (for Hawaii visitors),
Kamaiina fees for Hawaii residents,
an even lower fee for Molokai residents,
and the lowest fee of all, a "Twilight Green Fee"
for 9 holes of golf and a golf cart.
The
Molokai Ferry, which runs between Maui to Molokai,
offers golf packages that include round trip
ferry transportation between Lahaina Maui and
Kaunakakai Molokai, round trip ground transportation
between Kaunakakai and the Kaluakoi
Golf course, a continental breakfast,
18 holes of golf, golf cart rental, and
a picnic lunch.
The Kaluakoi Golf Course is located
near Kepuhi Beach, about 10 minutes from
the
Molokai Ranch Lodge in Maunaloa Town.
