Molokai Hoe
This race across the Kaiwi Channel
from Molokai to Oahu is considered
the world championships of men's long distance
outrigger canoe racing.
The October event begins at Hale O Lono Harbor
on Molokai and ends at Duke
Kahanamoku Beach in front of the Hilton
Hawaiian Village Hotel in Waikiki.
Na Wahine O Ke Kai
This race is the women's answer to the
Molokai Hoe and it is considered the world
championships of women's long distance
outrigger canoe racing. The September

Hawaiian Village Hotel in Waikiki.
Molokai Challenge
Every summer windsurfers, kite surfers, kite canoes, and kite
catamarans attempt to cross the Pailolo Channel between Maui and Molokai,
which is one of the windiest and roughest channels in the Hawaiian Islands.
The event is called the "Molokai Challenge" and it is a benefit for
Molokai's Youth in Motion Program.
