Romantic Inns on Maui
A selection of the most romantic inns,
hotels, cottages, and bed and breakfast accommodations on the
Hawaiian island of Maui.
Hotel Hana Maui
This remote, serene, and luxurious resort is located at
the end of a long but beautiful drive along the
lush eastern coast of Maui. Accommodations are in a low rise "Bay Cottage" bungalows
located close to the main building or in spacious,
"Sea Ranch" plantation style duplex cottages on the
hotel grounds. The hotel's Honua Spa offers
massage therapy, body wraps, body scrubs, facials,
aroma therapy, and skin treatments. Romance packages
are available that include a 60 minute in-room
massage for two, a dozen chocolate covered strawberries,
and a dinner that includes a bottle
of sparkling wine, an appetizer, an entre, a cheese course,
and dessert. The hotel also offers honeymoon specials
and a wide range of wedding packages.
Lahaina Inn
This elegant, twelve room inn is located
in the historic whaling village of Lahaina.
All rooms have private bathrooms, antique
furnishings, ceiling fans, air conditioning, and a
lanai with two rocking chairs. Beds are either
full size, twin size, queen size, or king size.
Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono
This inn in Wailuku Maui has seven rooms in two
1924 plantation-style buildings. The rooms are
decorated and named after tropical flowers,
and each one has a private bathroom, noise
insulation, television, VCR, air conditioning,
and either a king, queen, or twin size beds.
The Inn at Mama's Fishhouse
These duplex cottages in a coconut grove on
Kuau Beach are located next to the romantic
Mama's Fish House restaurant. There are one
bedroom units in a tropical jungle and two
bedroom units facing the beach. All units
are beautifully furnished and all have full
kitchens, tile floorws, laundry facilities,
televisions, VCRs, and queen size beds in
the master bedrooms.
Olinda Country Cottages and Inn
These accommodations are located on a protea flower farm in
up-country Makawao, on the slopes of
the dormant Haleakala volcano. The units include
two room-only units with private bathrooms in the main
house, one apartment with a full kitchen in the main house,
and two 900-1000 square foot cottages with full kitchens and
king size beds.
Banyon Tree House
A plantation inn with a swimming pool on
two landscaped acres in Makawao Town in
upcountry Maui. Accommodations are in a
3 bedroom, 3 bathroom plantation manager's home
or in four smaller guest cottages with hardwood
floors and marble bathrooms. There is a swimming
pool and jacuzzi on the grounds.
Penny's Place Inn Paradise
Four romantic guest rooms on Front Street in
the whaling town of Lahaina. Rooms have ocean
views, private bathrooms, and separate entrances.
Guests have access to a common kitchenette on the
balcony, and a large 8 foot by 42 foot balcony with
wicker furniture. A light breakfast of
fresh fruit, pastries, juices, bread, jam, and cereal,
served every day except Sunday, is included in the rates.
