Camping in Haleakala National Park
Maui, Hawaii

Information about campgrounds in Haleakala National Park including wilderness cabins, drive-to campgrounds, and hike-to campgrounds.

Car Accessible Haleakala Campgrounds
There are two car accessible camp grounds in the park. The Hosmer Grove Campground is in the summit area at about 7000 feet and the Kipahulu Campground is near sea level in the coastal part of the park. Spots are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. No spots can be reserved in advanced. Campers may stay up to three nights per month in these campgrounds. The Hosmper Campground has a limit of 50 people and the Kiaphulu Campground has a limit of 100 people.

    Wilderness Haleakala Camp Sites
    There are two wilderness campsites in the park, one at Paliku and one at Holua, and both of them are accessible only by hiking in on a trail.

    Wilderness Cabins in Haleakala Crater
    There are three wilderness cabins inside Haleakala Crater that can only be reached by hiking in. They are the Holua Cabin, the Kapalaoa Cabin, and the Paliku Cabin. All of them must be reserved in advance
