Maui Bus Transportation
Information about traveling by bus on the island
of Maui plus bus tours of Maui offered by tour companies.
Maui Public Transit
Since July of 2005, the public transportation system on the island of Maui
has been funded by the county of Maui, but operated by the
Roberts Hawaii Tour Company. Routes connect the towns of
Wapalua, Kaanapali, Lahaina, Maalea, Wailuku, Kahului,
Kihei, and Wailea.
Holo Ka'a Shuttle
Akina Aloha Tours offers a bus service with
two routes, on ein Wailea and one that runs between
the Kaanapali Beach Resort area and and the old whaler's
village of Lahaina.
2002 Article About the Maui Bus
According to this August 2002 article by rosemarie
Bernardo in the Honolulu Star Bulletin Newspaper,
at one time the Maui public transportation system
was operated jointly by the county of Maui,
Maui Economic Opportunity, and Aakina Aloha Tours.
