Sold Ala Moana Hotel in July of 2004 after 18 years
Spent $565 million buying six Hawaii hotels and other properties in the late 1980's
including the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, the Maui Marriott,
and the Kona Lagoon Hotel. By July of 2004 they had
lost control of all of those hotels except
the Hyatt Regency Waikik and the Ala Moana Hotel,
which it bought for $70 million in 1986, and then
did $31 million in renovations.
Crescent Heights
The Florida based condominium developer, Crescent Heights,
bought the Ala Moana Hotel from Azabu USA on July 20,2004.
In 2003 Crescent Heights acquired land and develoment
rights for two residential high rise buildings,
Kakaako and Koolani.
