Aqua Takes Over Management of Aqua Palms Hotel
Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii
An extensive rennovation of the Aqua Palms Hotel in
Waikiki was completed in January of 2005, and at that
time, Aqua Hotels took over management of the hotel,
which was formerly managed by Aston.
Aqua Hotels assumed management of the 260-room Aqua Palms at
Waikiki Hotel, when it reopened on January 15, 2005, following
a year of extensive renovations. It is located directly across
from the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
According to Aqua’s General Manager Joseph
Yamaoka, "The hotel has undergone a total renovation
right down to the marble in the bathrooms". Aqua Palms
comes online at a time of hotel room shortages in Waikiki,
according to Yamaoka, and will be the "newest hotel offering
in Waikiki" pegged to the mid to upscale market segment.
It is Aqua’s sixth hotel and is expected to provide
employment for up to 100 persons.
Renovations include
a "hip and chic" feel to guest rooms, adding small
kitchens and upgraded bathrooms. Along with faux-sand
wallpaper used in guest rooms for a unique tropical feel,
there will be the addition of free high-speed inter-net
service, DVDs, and pillow-top beds.
Rates begin from $165 and up to $450 for suites.
Aqua Palms was previously managed by Aston. Aqua is a resort
management firm owned by Hawaii hotelier Mike Paulin
