Transportation on Lanai

How to get to the island of Lanai in Hawaii, and how to get around once you arrive.

Driving on Lanai

There are only about 30 miles of paved road on the island of Lanai, so if you want to do anything more then drive between your resort and Lanai City, you will need a vehicle with four-wheel drive. You can rent a vehicle and drive yourself, but if you've never driven the dirt roads of Lanai before, hiring guide and driver is highly recommended.

Expeditions Ferry
This ferry line transports visitors and residents back and forth across the Auau channel, between Lahaina, Maui and the Manele Bay Small Boat Harbor on Lanai.
