The Spouting Horn on Lawai Road in Poipu is a natural rock formation that allows seawater to rush under a black lava rock shelf, burst through a hole in the rock, and spray up to 50 feet into the air. The water makes a strange hissing sound as it is forced through the hole. WARNING: Do not walk onto the lava rock shelf surrounding the blow hole. Some of the people who tried it died or were seriously injured.
