Camping on Kauai

Information about campgrounds and camping regulations on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Includes information about camping in Kauai county parks, state parks, and privately owned campgrounds.

Na Pali Coast State Park Campgrounds
Trailside camping is allowed in this beautiful state park with some restrictions. There is a maximum stay of 5 nights and no two consecutive nights are allowed at Hanakapiai or Hanakoa. Camping areas are on shaded terraces near streams. No picnic tables or drinking water, but composting toilets are available at Hanakapiai, Hanakoa, and Kalalau. State camping permit required.

Kokee State Park Campground
There is a small campground at Kokee State Park that will accommodate up to fifteen people. State camping permit required.

Hawaii State Park Camping Permits and Fees
Information about permits and fees required to camp in Hawaii's state parks. If you wish to camp at a state park on Kauai, you will need to apply for a camping permit and make reservations at the the Hawaii State Parks Kauai Office. They can be contacted at 808-274-3444.

Kauai County Park Camping Permits and Fees

    Camp Sloggett
    A campground, cottage, and lodge, and hostel in Kokee State Park that is owned by the Kauai YMCA.
