Honolulu Star Bulletin Thanksgiving Dinner Recipes
This Honolulu Star Bulletin article includes two
recipes for grilling a turkey, a recipe for cooking
a turkey imu-style, and recipes for Portuguese
sausage cornbread stuffing baked in the oven
and grilled apples stuffed with rains, nuts,
cinnamon, and brown sugar.
Honolulu Advertiser Thanksgiving Turkey Recipes
This 2003 Honolulu Advertiser article by Wanda Adams
features several methods for cooking a Thanksgiving
turkey. Recipes include the traditional roasting method,
high heat roasting, cooking-bag method, deep fried turkey,
barbecued turkey, and cooking the turkey in an imu
(underground oven).
Sunset Magazine "Thanksgiving in Hawaii" Recipes
This Sunset Magazine article includes
recipes for smoked turkey with Portuguese sausage dressing,
steamed mahimahi laulau, Okinawa sweet potatoes,
salad with papaya seed dressing, coconut pudding triangles,
macadamia nut tart, fresh coconut milk, and

On Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day there
are usually several groups in Hawaii
raising funds for their church or organization
by cooking resident-supplied turkeys in a
Polynesian style underground oven.
