Statues in Hawaii

Information about some of the most beautiful and interesting statues and sculptures in Hawaii's public areas.

King Kamehameha Statue (Oahu Island)
The most photographed visitor attraction in Hawaii is the golden King Kamehameha I statue in the historic capitol district of Honolulu, across the street from the Iolani Palace.

Other Oahu Statues and Sculptures
Photographs of some of Oahu's most important statues and sculptures including statues of Hawaiian royalty, a statue of Olympic champion swimmer and surfer Duke Kahanamoku, a statue of Father Damien of Molokai, a statue of Ghandi, and public sculptures in Waikiki and other parts of Honolulu.

King Kamehamea Statue (Hawaii Island)
The original golden King Kamehameha I statue was lost at sea while being transported but it was eventually recovered. Now it is located in Kiholo Bay, Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii.

King Kamehamea Statue (Washington DC)
There is another statue of King Kamehameha I in the National Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol Building in Washington DC.
